Terms and Cancellation

1. Who we are and what we offer

Smart Edge International Ltd, trading as SmartEdge, is a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 16995773). We provide one-to-one online tutoring in Maths, English and Science for students in Grades 3 to 10 in Germany. These terms apply to families who book lessons with us.

2. Free trial lesson and consultation

A free trial lesson (30 minutes) or consultation call (15 minutes) carries no obligation. Requests are matched to a tutor based on the times you choose, and we confirm the exact time by WhatsApp or email. A confirmed trial is not a contract for further lessons.

3. Lessons, prices and payment

Lessons are 50 minutes, one-to-one and online. Prices per lesson are: EUR 30 for one lesson a week, EUR 28 for two lessons a week and EUR 26 for three or more lessons a week. Smart Edge International Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to these prices. Lessons are invoiced every four weeks in advance, and you can pay by bank transfer or card.

4. Rescheduling and cancellation by you

There is no long-term contract. You can pause or stop lessons at any time by telling us in writing. Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to move or cancel a booked lesson. Lessons cancelled with less notice may be charged.

5. If we need to change a lesson

If a tutor is unavailable, we will offer a replacement lesson time or another suitable tutor. If we cannot, we will refund or credit that lesson.

6. Learning outcomes

We work hard to help every child progress, but we cannot guarantee particular grades or results.

7. Your responsibilities

A parent or guardian is responsible for the booking and should be reachable during lessons where the child is young. Please provide accurate information and a stable internet connection.

8. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent, gross negligence, and injury to life, body or health, and as the law requires. Otherwise, liability for slightly negligent breach of essential obligations is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this kind of contract. Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live continue to apply.

Right of withdrawal

Withdrawal instructions. You have the right to withdraw from a contract for lessons within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day the contract is made. To exercise your right, you must inform us of your decision by a clear statement, for example by email to info@smartedgestudy.com or by post to Smart Edge International Ltd, Office 7388, 182–184 High Street North East Ham, London, E6 2JA, United Kingdom. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. To meet the deadline, it is enough to send your notice before the period ends.

Effects of withdrawal. If you withdraw, we will repay all payments received from you without undue delay, and no later than 14 days after we receive your notice, using the same payment method you used, unless you agree otherwise.

Lessons started during the withdrawal period. If you ask us to begin lessons before the 14 days end, you must pay us an amount in proportion to the lessons already provided up to the moment you told us you were withdrawing, compared with the full contract.
